Bikini Car Wash

We just don't know how we could possibly have missed this stunning promotion. In a true example of fine taste, the American Red Cross and American Apparel hosted a Celebrity Bikini Car Wash to benefit Hurricane Katrina Victims held September 24 at Shelter Nightclub in Hollywood. In case you missed it, you can revel in the glory of water and soap-drenched hotties pretending to wash cars as tongues wag and cameras shoot. All for a good cause, of course. Repeat after me: "Sex Sells." Sex Sells." "Sex Sells." OK, enough. Put your tongue back in your mouth and go back to work before you boss catches you drooling.

Auburn University solar

This Universities solar car team came from an idea for a Mechanical Engineering senior project, to build a small remote-control solar-powered car. This mushroomed into the largest undergraduate engineering project ever undertaken at Auburn University. Their project gained momentum when GM announced sponsorship of the 1990 GM Sunrayce from Orlando, Florida to Detroit, Michigan.

A solar car is an electric vehicle powered by solar energy obtained from solar panels on the car. Solar cars are not currently a practical form of transportation as they can only operate during the day and can only carry one or two passengers. However, they are raced in competitions such as the World Solar Challenge and the American Solar Challenge. These events are often sponsored by Government agencies such as the United States Department of Energy keen to promote the development of alternative energy technology such as solar cells. Such challenges are often entered by universities to develop their students engineering and technological skills as well as motor vehicle manufacturers such as GM and Honda.

Want to impress your friends and possibly score a girlfriend? How about purchasing this sweet-ass "Fastlane" car of the future? You can "Buy It Now" on eBay for a cool $15,000. But before you push the button: It's not really a car. It's a shell designed to fit on top of a Pontiac Fiero. Which is not included in the auction. So, yeah. It was designed for Universal Pictures by concept car maker Trans FX for use in a movie or something. I know it can't actually go anywhere, but I still think I want it. I'll just use a flatbed trailer to tote it to the bar and then slide it off into a parking spot. Then I'll proceed to get some lucky lady extremely drunk and ask if she wants to see my fancy sports car from the future. Hopefully she won't notice there's not a goddamn thing inside and will still make out with me while we're sitting on the pavement inside. What, where's my sense? I'll throw a tarp down. I may even add a boombox for some makeout tunage.
